Hello & welcome to the blog! I'm Angela Norton, and I'm a family, senior, & wedding photographer based in North Central Florida. I'd love for you to relax a while here, and enjoy reading the ANP stories. You'll also find tons of resources for your next session or wedding!
Protea is a newer venue, and is a quiet, magnificent, beauty. The barn is light and bright on the outside, and warm and cozy on the inside. The bride and groom had separate quarters for getting ready and hanging out. The bridal suite is completely ready for you to get your glam on, with plenty of space for your bridal party. And from what I understand, Shelby was treated like a queen and they made sure everything was perfect for her.
Courtney and Shelby have a super interesting love story! I can’t say it any better than Shelby can… “We met on my first day of 6th grade. My brother Tyler was walking me to my first class. He and Courtney were both in 7th grade. As we got to the door Courtney ran ahead of us to open the door for me and asked him if I was his sister. He said I was so beautiful! I knew nothing about love in middle school but that’s a memory I will never forget to this day. Courtney always said he wanted to make me his girlfriend but things never worked out for us. Going into highschool, we sat by each other in Math class. He spent almost every single day getting to know me better and trying convince me to give him a chance. I never did. We talked on the phone for hours and he finally told me that he had been praying for me for years and that he knew that God told him I was going to be his wife one day. I never believed him lol But to this day I have learned not to question His relationship with the Lord.”

Protea Engagement Session
Welcome to the loveliest High Springs backyard wedding ever! Family and friends came from all over the country to be with them and celebrate. The bride did an amazing job of designing a classy and romantic ambiance. And everyone made me feel like I was a part of their bunch.
Josh and Jenna were all smiles on their wedding day. In fact, it was very difficult for either of them to give me a model face. They just kept laughing! At times, Josh had me laughing so much I couldn’t get my words out! You can just see that they love each other, and enjoy being around each other.
Their intimate ceremony took place in a moment of cooler Florida weather, and in true Florida fashion, quickly turned to a rainstorm. Meanwhile, this bride took it all in stride. She quickly moved her guests inside, and made the best of it. And you would never ever know by talking to her, that her beautiful reception decorations were getting drenched.
She was truly all smiles, and she was a joy to be around.
We were able to sneak here and there for portraits, and if you look closely, many were done in the rain. Again, she was up for anything and just wasn’t caught up in any unnecessary worry or disappointment. Against the odds, was truly enjoying her day.
What I loved most about this day, was the closeness of Josh and Jenna’s friends and family. Above all, to have a group of people love on them so much, was an inspiring thing to watch.
Josh and Jenna, I wish you all the best! And if you can survive rain on your wedding day with such a great spirit, I know you will weather all the storms that this life is going to throw at you. It was an honor to be there and I can’t thank you enough.
High Springs Backyard Wedding
Kyle and Jessica’s love story began on January 15, 2015, and they were quickly engaged on March 6th 2015. Jessica said, “When you know, you know.”
They made it through a rocky first day (blown tire, she thought he stood her up), so that must have been a good sign! Since then they have had many good dates and genuinely just love to hang out with each other. He says she’s a great mom, and that she’s beautiful and sweet. She says she loves how hard he works for their family, and respects him for his honesty. They both share a beautiful passion for raising their son.
Their Wedding Day was more than perfect! I knew it would be when Jessica came to our wedding prep meeting with a binder, planner, and lists. A woman after my own type-a heart.
Seriously though, she planned so many perfect details. I just love her simple yet country-elegant style. From the heirloom fur shawl to the chandeliers in the reception barn. She really brought elegance to a modest wedding.
January brought us so much gloomy weather this year, and while it was a bit overcast, it was beautiful weather. The perfect amount of cloud cover with brightness, and it made for a comfortable evening for all the guests.
Jessica and Kyle, I was honored to be a part of your day, and so glad to deliver you images you will cherish forever!
Imagine trying to plan an event in 2020. Now imagine that on top of the 2020 woes, you learn your wedding venue has burned down…. yikes right? Thankfully Granville Plantation stepped in and saved the day! Gail at Granville worked with this bride and groom to make sure all their wedding dreams would come true… no matter what!
Granville Plantation is an exceptional venue. Gail really works hard to make sure the venue is tastefully decorated for anyone, and has a stockroom full of odds and ends for any event.
Rachel and Braden are high school sweethearts. They met at a church festival, and it didn’t take Braden long to ask Rachel to be his girlfriend. Fast forward 7 years later, Braden asked Rachel to marry him while on a stroll through a botanical garden.
It was a pleasure to be around this couple all throughout the engagement and wedding process. They are calm and relaxed, and that always makes everything go so smooth and enjoyable. They complement each other so well.
Rachel had a few surprises up her sleeve for the day. She had an unexpected flower girl and ring bearer, a trumpet solo, and a father daughter (brother) dance that had everyone on their feet!
The whole wedding day went off with out a hitch. We’ve had lots of rainy days in Florida, but this day was nice and dry. We all were blessed with the pleasant fall weather.
Rachel & Braden, I’m so very glad to have been a part of your special day! If ya’ll can make it through 2020 while planning a wedding, you can do anything! XOXO

A Granville Plantation Wedding
It was an absolutely stunning day for a Gainesville Florida wedding! We had our first warm day of the year, and it was very much appreciated by all.
Who knew? Who knew that when Roxanne and Phillip were passing one another in the hallways of middle school that one day they would fall in love?
Who knew in those early days that on March 14, 2020 they would stand before their loved ones in the First United Methodist Church of Gainesville and exchanged wedding vows and promises to walk forward from that day as husband and wife!
Phillip and Roxanne had their very first date, almost 6 years ago now, on July 14, 2014 in St. Augustine. A lot of walking and talking as they began to find their way with one another. For the next four years they dated and became a couple. Phillip went through a lot of heartfelt time and prep to ask Roxanne the big question on July 2018 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. And when she said “yes!” he placed his Grandmother’s ring upon Roxanne’s finger.
He loves her for her personality, laugh and smarts. She loves his ability to make her laugh, his great cooking talents, and for being there for her no matter what. They enjoy traveling and having adventures with their pups, fishing and spending time with good friends.
Roxanne choose the colors of French Grey and Wisteria for her Victorian themed wedding. She wore her grandmother’s jewelry, and he wore his grandpa’s tie pin. And the sweetest part, her Grandmother Irene made her beautiful wedding veil! She was able to match it up to the dress so beautifully.
Family and history is so important for the both of them, and you could absolutely tell that from all the details.
On their big day Phillip was soooo nervous! Of course, Roxanne was not. She is the coolest, laid back chick you’ll meet.
The reception was held at Plantation Hall in Haile Village where love, heartfelt toasts, music and of course some dancing lasted throughout the day.
Phillip & Roxanne, thank you so much for making me a part of your lovely wedding day. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for ya’ll! And let me know when you finalize that Disney Paris trip… I’ll carry your bags!
