Hello & welcome to the blog! I'm Angela Norton, and I'm a family, senior, & wedding photographer based in North Central Florida. I'd love for you to relax a while here, and enjoy reading the ANP stories. You'll also find resources for your next session or wedding!
Imagine trying to plan an event in 2020. Now imagine that on top of the 2020 woes, you learn your wedding venue has burned down…. yikes right? Thankfully Granville Plantation stepped in and saved the day! Gail at Granville worked with this bride and groom to make sure all their wedding dreams would come true… no matter what!
Granville Plantation is an exceptional venue. Gail really works hard to make sure the venue is tastefully decorated for anyone, and has a stockroom full of odds and ends for any event.
Rachel and Braden are high school sweethearts. They met at a church festival, and it didn’t take Braden long to ask Rachel to be his girlfriend. Fast forward 7 years later, Braden asked Rachel to marry him while on a stroll through a botanical garden.
It was a pleasure to be around this couple all throughout the engagement and wedding process. They are calm and relaxed, and that always makes everything go so smooth and enjoyable. They complement each other so well.
Rachel had a few surprises up her sleeve for the day. She had an unexpected flower girl and ring bearer, a trumpet solo, and a father daughter (brother) dance that had everyone on their feet!
The whole wedding day went off with out a hitch. We’ve had lots of rainy days in Florida, but this day was nice and dry. We all were blessed with the pleasant fall weather.
Rachel & Braden, I’m so very glad to have been a part of your special day! If ya’ll can make it through 2020 while planning a wedding, you can do anything! XOXO

A Granville Plantation Wedding
It was an absolutely stunning day for a Gainesville Florida wedding! We had our first warm day of the year, and it was very much appreciated by all.
Who knew? Who knew that when Roxanne and Phillip were passing one another in the hallways of middle school that one day they would fall in love?
Who knew in those early days that on March 14, 2020 they would stand before their loved ones in the First United Methodist Church of Gainesville and exchanged wedding vows and promises to walk forward from that day as husband and wife!
Phillip and Roxanne had their very first date, almost 6 years ago now, on July 14, 2014 in St. Augustine. A lot of walking and talking as they began to find their way with one another. For the next four years they dated and became a couple. Phillip went through a lot of heartfelt time and prep to ask Roxanne the big question on July 2018 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. And when she said “yes!” he placed his Grandmother’s ring upon Roxanne’s finger.
He loves her for her personality, laugh and smarts. She loves his ability to make her laugh, his great cooking talents, and for being there for her no matter what. They enjoy traveling and having adventures with their pups, fishing and spending time with good friends.
Roxanne choose the colors of French Grey and Wisteria for her Victorian themed wedding. She wore her grandmother’s jewelry, and he wore his grandpa’s tie pin. And the sweetest part, her Grandmother Irene made her beautiful wedding veil! She was able to match it up to the dress so beautifully.
Family and history is so important for the both of them, and you could absolutely tell that from all the details.
On their big day Phillip was soooo nervous! Of course, Roxanne was not. She is the coolest, laid back chick you’ll meet.
The reception was held at Plantation Hall in Haile Village where love, heartfelt toasts, music and of course some dancing lasted throughout the day.
Phillip & Roxanne, thank you so much for making me a part of your lovely wedding day. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for ya’ll! And let me know when you finalize that Disney Paris trip… I’ll carry your bags!

Ya’ll! This was the sweetest, simplest, love filled, and fun wedding! Dave and Maggie were married on their family property in Williston, and as everyone around here knows that the Whitehurst Lodge is a lovely, picturesque homesite, and a wonderful place to get married.
Dave and Maggie found each other after both were just looking for the right match. Their first date was a romantic boat ride in Crystal River, and the romance hasn’t slowed down! After they learned they have the same interests and hobbies (and even favorited the same candy!), they knew there was going to be more to their story.
They both love to hunt and fish, and love spending time at the river. Maggie said that Dave simply makes her feel loved… oh and she’s smitten over his pretty blue eyes! Dave loves Maggie for her contagious laugh and her loyalty to him. They are truly a great team, at work and and home, and everyone I spoke to said how unbelievably happy they are for them! I haven’t known them long, but I feel like they are the type of people you can not only depend on, but also have a great time with!
Dave proposed to Maggie in July, and in a short time they put together a beautiful wedding day! They wanted a really relaxed day with a sprinkling of tradition, and touches of Christmas.
They also wanted to celebrate, and with the help of Justin Lee Partin band, the place was rockin! And oh the food! I wish I could share with you the wonderful smells of all the delicious dishes! Sisters Place knows how to put out a mouth watering spread!
Dave and Maggie, I really enjoyed meeting you and your sweet, kind family. It was truly an honor to be a part of your day and get to celebrate this new chapter in your lives. I am sure you know it, but ya’ll are a super sweet team, and I wish you every happiness that you deserve!

Logan and Kayla’s love story is what dreams are made of. Their trust in God to do good things in their lives is inspiring. And their wedding day was incredible.
Logan and Kayla’s friendship bloomed after she started working at WCCA. They saw special things in each other, and after a while, sparks started flying! Due to their position as influencers at the school, they were very intentional with their relationship. They waited, they prayed, they had complete trust in God to design their path. But all along, the chemistry couldn’t be denied!
Instead of me explaining, here’s what Kayla had to say about how it started for her. “So the Obsession began. I can remember every time I saw my sisters, mom, and close friends this is what they would hear………Oh my Gosh he is SO CUTE! He loves Jesus, his family, and kids. What is not to love about him. He is a true example of what a Godly relationship looks like in a child of God. Oh my gosh do you think he likes me? Do you think I should wear this to school? I can not believe he smiled at me today…… I think one day he will tell me if he likes me. Oh my goodness what if I am being so obsessive and he is not even interested. What am I going to do?”
Isn’t she the most adorable person ever!?!
And yes, Logan was so very into Kayla! He proposed to her on July 26th, without any of their usual fanfare. While he had planned a more extravagant proposal, he simply couldn’t wait. They were at his home, just cleaned up from they day, and enjoying a regular night; and Logan said, “in the middle of “our” future home. I told her what God revealed to me and how I felt about her and our future life together and asked her to marry me.”
Before their engagement session, Logan and Kayla told me that the thing they were most excited about on their wedding day, was having everyone that had poured into their lives, be together to celebrate what God has created. And boy did they! The Williston Church of God was standing room only! They are so loved and appreciated.
All Kayla kept saying in the bridal suite, was that she was ready to see him. So when they had their first look, I knew it wasn’t really going to be about looks. They just needed to hold on to each other, and talk about it all! And of course Logan was absolutely blown away by Kayla. She was positively radiant.
The day went so smoothly. Everything happened on time and in perfect order. The weather could not have been better. And the many hands helping made it an easy and joyful day.
After the ceremony we headed over to the Etheridge Produce packing shed, and let me tell you… That place hasn’t ever seen a party like that! The decor was gorgeous, and surely felt like it was a little magical place that night. I don’t know how many people were on that dance floor, but it was a sea of movers and shakers! The DJ did an amazing job of entertaining everyone, and keeping the momentum going.
Kayla and Logan wanted a party. While they wanted to do the traditional events of the reception, they really weren’t too focused on the details. They just wanted to dance! So they did!
All in all, it was a truly wonderful day. I’m honored to be able to share their story and witness such awe inspiring faith and love.
Kayla and Logan, you are a blessing to so many, and your joy is contagious! Ya’ll will have so so many more adventures, and I am beyond grateful that I got to be a part of this one. I love ya’ll so much, and cheers to many decades of love and happiness.

Tyler and Alyssa’s wedding pulled on the heartstrings all day long. The combination of their wonderfully joyful and loving family and the intimacy of the Sweetwater Branch in Gainesville’s historic district, was a formula for magic. When they decided to get married, they decided not to draw out a long engagement, and quickly put together this event. And you’d never know they didn’t plan for months and months. And believe me, you could tell from the smiles on every guests’ face, that they were having a great time!
Due to the brevity of their engagement, Tyler and Alyssa opted to skip the Engagement Session, which would normally scare me, because I really value that time with my couples, but it was totally fine. They are so easy going and kind, they really made my job very easy. And you will see in the images, they knocked their portraits out of the park!
When I entered the bridal suite, I was greeted with smiles and laughs. I even commented that the vibe in the room was so welcoming and calming. These ladies had been friends since they were Girl Scouts, and they made me feel so very much a part of their group. I really can’t say enough wonderful things about them. And you could feel the love they all had for each other; it was tangible.
It was the last weekend in November, and we couldn’t have custom ordered better weather. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky, and the temperature was a perfect 66 degrees. We just had one small setback during the day, which was an accident on the highway, which delayed several guests, so the ceremony start time was pushed back slightly. Totally no big deal since the guests were quite comfortable, and the venue allowed us to extend the exit time by half an hour. We did have to put the bridal portraits into high gear, but you’d never know (1) that they had no engagement session practice, (2) that my tempo of instructions may have rivaled an auctioneers! They were absolute champs!
You know those times in your life when you know you are a part of something special? Yea, that was this day. Tyler and Alyssa I adore you both. Your day was magic. I pray for a blessed marriage and family for you! Thank you so much for the absolute honor and privilege of getting to witness and capture your day. Enjoy this visual story of your beautiful fall wedding day!

Rebecca and Austin’s wedding at the Ocala Boat Club in the Ocala National Forest in Florida was one for the books! They planned this wedding for a couple of years, and when I got the call that they had a date, I was ecstatic! You see, Austin is in the military and he had a very hard time getting a schedule nailed down. And as you will see, it was worth the wait!

Amanda and Sam’s wedding on a beautiful beach in Cedar Key Florida was the most exciting wedding I’ve ever been to! We were dodging rain, and chasing the sun.
Amanda and Sam were friends first. Helping each other when life really threw some curveballs. And since the day they got engaged, I’ve been looking forward to their wedding. Amanda is a creative and I just knew she was going to make the day special and totally unique to their story.
And everyone involved just kept putting one foot in front of the other, and moving forward. Luckily they have tons of family and friends who adore them, because everyone pitched in to help save the flying decorations, and place the last minute decoration details. We actually didn’t know if the ceremony could even take place on the beach until moments before start time!
And, what do you do when a huge thunderhead is barreling towards your guests, while your saying your vows? Well, everyone prayed a lot!
The ceremony took place on the beach, just like Amanda dreamt it would. And, right after the ceremony all the guests helped move chairs and decorations, because that thunderhead was about to hit! The sky got even blacker, and thankfully we all got settled into the reception all just before the storm! It was quite awesome how it all worked out!
Amanda and Sam kicked off the reception with a special dance they had traveled to Orlando to learn and practice. It was so exciting! They were all smiles and giggling and really put on a great show for us! The reception dance floor was packed all night. Everyone, young and old, had a wonderful evening of fun and fellowship.
We tried a few times to get outside and get their bridal pictures, but the rain just wouldn’t let us; until finally at sunset we snuck out for a few magical frames! Since we got just a few bridal portraits of Sam and Amanda, we met back up for a romantic Bridal Session a few weeks after the wedding! Check out that beautiful story!
Together Sam and Amanda make a fierce team, and complement each other very well. A match made in heaven!!! I’m very grateful that I got to document their truly special day.

I am thrilled to share this wedding with you, because it was magical. Sierra and Ozie’s wedding was a beautiful spring day in Alachua at The Barn at Rembert Farms. The sun was shining and we had a lovely breeze. We’d done a family session and their engagement session prior, which made me even more excited to be a part of this wedding.
When I arrived, I went straight to the bridesmaids cabin to see Sierra. While she was getting her finishing touches, I captured the detail shots. Among other things, Sierra was using her grandma’s handkerchief as her something old and borrowed, which was so heartwarming. Added to that was her stunning dress and super hot boots, and it was just lovely.
While the ladies were getting dressed I ran and worked with the guys. They were a ball of thunder, and were a dream to photograph. I just loved the wardrobe choices for them, comfortable in their boots and jeans, with vests and jackets added to bring it up a notch.
When we knocked their pictures out, I jogged back over to Sierra, and we did dad’s first look. I ain’t gonna lie… I teared up! It was so stinkin’ sweet.
Then we had Sierra and Ozie’s first look. Yep, a tear jerker too. At first I think Ozie was scared to touch her. She was a statuesque beauty in that dress! It was surely made just for her. Eventually he got over his shock and started loving on her.
Next thing you know we are at the ceremony, and it was a full house. The ceremony went off without a hitch and Mr. and Mrs. Parrish were introduced! I can’t say enough about how these two are with each other. Throughout their vows, you could just tell they were one.
Since they had done a first look, we just had a handful of pictures to take care of, and we were off to the reception. The hall is a really cool place, and just makes for a wonderfully rustic atmosphere. They got all the formalities of dancing (tears), cake cutting (laughter), and garter/bouquet tosses (roaring laughter) all taken care of and they danced the night away.
We did sneak out for some sunset pictures, and like every other part of the day, it was perfect. I didn’t know it was even possible for Sierra to look any more stunning, but she did!
It was a joy to be a part of their family and friends who obviously cared so much about Sierra & Ozie.
Honestly, this one was one to remember because it was so absolutely beautiful in every way.
Sierra & Ozie, it was truly an honor and privilege to be a part of your day, and document it for you. I smile every darn time I look at these pictures. I look forward to seeing you head into this next chapter arm in arm, and hope that our paths cross again soon.

Sam and Amanda’s bridal session was not originally in the big plan.
You see, their perfectly planned beach wedding day was almost entirely rained out. And I don’t mean a few showers. I mean a Florida thunderstorm that sometimes feels like an unpredictable hurricane. While it stopped raining just long enough for the ceremony, it left us with no opportunity to get their portraits.
Luckily these fun-loving, energetic, up for almost anything sweethearts got all dolled up after their honeymoon, for a Bridal Session.
As you’ll see, Amanda is a lover of life, and she is making a career out of helping others get healthier and happier. She gives a thousand percent to everything she does, and that includes helping her community and people in any way possible.
And then there’s Sam! Ya’ll. I really hope you can see in these images the way he looks at her. Pure unadulterated love. #relationship goals right there!
We started the session on the same beach where they got married, and we were blessed with clear blue skies and really beautiful water. After that, we moved to the other side of the island where we would catch the sun setting. It’s another gorgeous spot. You’ll see in the images below that it was a little precarious getting out to the beach! We needed to get across a little stream, and it took some fancy footwork for Amanda to cross a wooden plank in that dress and those heels.
Although we may have trashed the dress a little bit, we had a great session. And I loved watching Sam and Amanda love on each other without the stress of guests, rain, wind, and time.
Sam & Amanda, ya’ll know you hold a special place in my heart, and you deserve all the blessings to be rained down on you (is it too soon for rain jokes?).
