Our St. Augustine engagement session day started off on the wrong foot for me. You see, I inadvertently had us all park in the wrong spot! And since it was moving day for the college, the streets were packed to the gills! So we decided to walk to our location, instead of drive.

Amanda and Sam’s wedding on a beautiful beach in Cedar Key Florida was the most exciting wedding I’ve ever been to! We were dodging rain, and chasing the sun.
Amanda and Sam were friends first. Helping each other when life really threw some curveballs. And since the day they got engaged, I’ve been looking forward to their wedding. Amanda is a creative and I just knew she was going to make the day special and totally unique to their story.
And everyone involved just kept putting one foot in front of the other, and moving forward. Luckily they have tons of family and friends who adore them, because everyone pitched in to help save the flying decorations, and place the last minute decoration details. We actually didn’t know if the ceremony could even take place on the beach until moments before start time!
And, what do you do when a huge thunderhead is barreling towards your guests, while your saying your vows? Well, everyone prayed a lot!
The ceremony took place on the beach, just like Amanda dreamt it would. And, right after the ceremony all the guests helped move chairs and decorations, because that thunderhead was about to hit! The sky got even blacker, and thankfully we all got settled into the reception all just before the storm! It was quite awesome how it all worked out!
Amanda and Sam kicked off the reception with a special dance they had traveled to Orlando to learn and practice. It was so exciting! They were all smiles and giggling and really put on a great show for us! The reception dance floor was packed all night. Everyone, young and old, had a wonderful evening of fun and fellowship.
We tried a few times to get outside and get their bridal pictures, but the rain just wouldn’t let us; until finally at sunset we snuck out for a few magical frames! Since we got just a few bridal portraits of Sam and Amanda, we met back up for a romantic Bridal Session a few weeks after the wedding! Check out that beautiful story!
Together Sam and Amanda make a fierce team, and complement each other very well. A match made in heaven!!! I’m very grateful that I got to document their truly special day.

Sam and Amanda’s bridal session was not originally in the big plan.
You see, their perfectly planned beach wedding day was almost entirely rained out. And I don’t mean a few showers. I mean a Florida thunderstorm that sometimes feels like an unpredictable hurricane. While it stopped raining just long enough for the ceremony, it left us with no opportunity to get their portraits.
Luckily these fun-loving, energetic, up for almost anything sweethearts got all dolled up after their honeymoon, for a Bridal Session.
As you’ll see, Amanda is a lover of life, and she is making a career out of helping others get healthier and happier. She gives a thousand percent to everything she does, and that includes helping her community and people in any way possible.
And then there’s Sam! Ya’ll. I really hope you can see in these images the way he looks at her. Pure unadulterated love. #relationship goals right there!
We started the session on the same beach where they got married, and we were blessed with clear blue skies and really beautiful water. After that, we moved to the other side of the island where we would catch the sun setting. It’s another gorgeous spot. You’ll see in the images below that it was a little precarious getting out to the beach! We needed to get across a little stream, and it took some fancy footwork for Amanda to cross a wooden plank in that dress and those heels.
Although we may have trashed the dress a little bit, we had a great session. And I loved watching Sam and Amanda love on each other without the stress of guests, rain, wind, and time.
Sam & Amanda, ya’ll know you hold a special place in my heart, and you deserve all the blessings to be rained down on you (is it too soon for rain jokes?).

I adore going to new locations. I love the challenge of thinking on my feet, and creating images using features of the location, as well as utilizing the light on the fly.
We all got up early…. I was up before 5, which is not my usual time of waking to say the least. And since we were going to a secluded unknown (to me) place, I made my husband and daughter go too! Yes, they still love me.
But oh was this place and family so worth it! Those boys were cute, and shy, and sweet, and polite! And look at their styling! Not only did this family look great, they were an absolute joy to work with. I think I smiled the whole way home.
Audrey, I know your family life is not easy with the miles between, but you seem to be doing a superb job of supporting your husband and building a relationship with those handsome boys. Nice work momma. You made it look easy.
