Kirkland and Austin’s Engagement Session at Coon Hollo in Micanopy was one I’ll never forget.
Their story started before I met them, but I had the absolute privilege of being there to document Austin’s SURPRISE proposal! With the help of his friends, we planned a “portrait session” for them both. Austin sold it to Kirkland as a dating anniversary present.
We thought this was a better idea than me hiding in the bushes trying to spy on them!
And obviously she said YES!
Kirkland and Austin are such kind people. They are full of smiles and have a go-with-the-flow attitude. In other words, they are a dream to work with, and their engagement session was really fun!
I’m always a little nervous when heading to a sunflower field that I haven’t seen. Are they going to be all picked? Did we have a drought/flood that killed them? Are they going to be droopy? Worst fears right?!
As you can see we experienced a gorgeous field! Actually there were so many stunning views, I was getting a little too excited! We also had a vibrant sky, great weather, and along with Kirkland’s style and grace, it all pulled together perfectly. I mean how great are those colors together. I also love it that Austin is himself here. He’s not all dolled up in something that isn’t him, and makes him uncomfortable. (take note ladies, he was a super happy guy!)
We decided to start the session on the deck, because it gave us a totally different look than the field. Then, we moved to the sunflowers, and chased some beautiful light!
I’m really looking forward to the coming months and planning what is sure to be a glorious and well attended wedding!
