It was an absolutely stunning day for a Gainesville Florida wedding! We had our first warm day of the year, and it was very much appreciated by all.
Who knew? Who knew that when Roxanne and Phillip were passing one another in the hallways of middle school that one day they would fall in love?
Who knew in those early days that on March 14, 2020 they would stand before their loved ones in the First United Methodist Church of Gainesville and exchanged wedding vows and promises to walk forward from that day as husband and wife!
God knew this wedding was to be!
Phillip and Roxanne had their very first date, almost 6 years ago now, on July 14, 2014 in St. Augustine. A lot of walking and talking as they began to find their way with one another. For the next four years they dated and became a couple. Phillip went through a lot of heartfelt time and prep to ask Roxanne the big question on July 2018 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. And when she said “yes!” he placed his Grandmother’s ring upon Roxanne’s finger.
He loves her for her personality, laugh and smarts. She loves his ability to make her laugh, his great cooking talents, and for being there for her no matter what. They enjoy traveling and having adventures with their pups, fishing and spending time with good friends.
Roxanne choose the colors of French Grey and Wisteria for her Victorian themed wedding. She wore her grandmother’s jewelry, and he wore his grandpa’s tie pin. And the sweetest part, her Grandmother Irene made her beautiful wedding veil! She was able to match it up to the dress so beautifully.
Family and history is so important for the both of them, and you could absolutely tell that from all the details.
On their big day Phillip was soooo nervous! Of course, Roxanne was not. She is the coolest, laid back chick you’ll meet.
The reception was held at Plantation Hall in Haile Village where love, heartfelt toasts, music and of course some dancing lasted throughout the day.
A wedding is just always better where love flows freely from family and friends to the new husband and wife, and this was just one of those!
Phillip & Roxanne, thank you so much for making me a part of your lovely wedding day. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for ya’ll! And let me know when you finalize that Disney Paris trip… I’ll carry your bags!
